Character Series...Part 3

The etymology of character simply means to engrave or else to stamp!

Character therefore means to engrave or else to stamp an identity onto you.

I have a friend who gets angry a lot especially at her husband and she uses unprintable words on him. She is not happy about it, but believes that is how she is. A lot of women do this, but do not see it as bad.

When she came to meet me, I asked her to define character, and she came up with the above definition. I then told her that from the definition, it means anger is stamped or else engraved onto her person.
Being a typical woman she rejected it (tufia!)

When you have a particular character you are not happy about and you feel you cannot change it, what you are saying is, that thing (lying, bad body language, procrastination) has been stamped onto you.

What profits or else losses have this bad character rewarded you with?

Ask yourself also, would you like your child to have those traits?

If your answer is no, then it is time to consciously begin to change those things about yourself that your spouse, children, colleagues, friends etc have complained about you that you know are true deep down.

Write out your gains if you change the bad character to a better one.
