I remember the first time i made a controversial post about SEX on my facebook page two years ago. I had started my journey to becoming a liberated and self aware woman. It caused uproar. A few dimwits threw shades, subs and tantrums on their private pages. An "admirer" sent me a private message questioning my choice of articles. It was amusing and entertaining to me. My response to all them, "STOP POLICING WOMEN"
In our society, Principles are forced on women. There is a need to control, dominate and manipulate women.
I say "Let a woman be whatever she wants to be and do what she wants" There will be women like Hilary Clinton and there will be women like Kim Kardashian. There will be women like Christina Amanpour and there will be women like Amber Rose. There will be women like Chimamanda Adichie and there will be women like Jane Mena. There will be women like Theresa May and there will be women like Cardi B There will be women like Linda Ikeji and there will be women like Maheeda The existence of every type of woman is VALID. They all make great contributions to the world in their respective careers. We need them all. Stop making women into believing that we must all follow the same path in life. We are all on a different journey.
And for the record, a woman can be a combination of beauty, brains and a dash of sexy. You can be a MULTI-FACETED woman. Whatever you want.
Dear Woman, Do You! And pay no attention to people who dictate how you should live but the never take their own advice. We have a lot of misogynists and they want to make life choices for us. "Don't dress this way" "Don't draw tattoos on your body" "Don't wear leg chain. Piercings make you look cheap and less attractive.' Blah, blah, blah. Then they will add 'No one wants to marry a woman who drinks like a fish, has tattoos and always goes to be club. She won't find responsible men' I find statements like that very moronic.
Some of these men with their crazy opinions are chain smokers and alcoholics who may have experimented with drugs. Yet, they come on social media to give girls and women advice about being good. Condemning the same things they do, and telling them it will guarantee a good husband. These men are exempted from bad behaviour but forbid women to have fun. The hypocrisy in this world is ridiculous.
Being a man gives you an entitlement to CHOICE but a woman should be GUIDED?
Allow every woman to be authentic and true to them. Don't tell them how they should be. Some girls are masculine in nature. There is nothing wrong with that. No RIGID gender or else beauty standards should be accepted. Put an end to sterotypes. The world is enough for us all.
