This is an easy and fast way to make your restaurant style sweet and sour chicken sauce, with simple ingredients we use every day. Serve with basmati rice or noodles.


Ingredients

Chicken breast or parts (shredded) - 0.5kg
Green Bell Pepper; 2 bulbs (Big dice)
Onions- 1 big (Big dice)
Spring Onions; 3 sprigs
Mushrooms (optional); 4oz
Soy Sauce; 2 table spoons
Vinegar; 1 tablespoon
Tomato Sauce; 1 cup
Brown Sugar; 2 tablespoons (can be adjusted for level of sweetness)
Vegetable Oil - 1 cup
Stock Cubes- 2

Instructions

1.Season chicken with stock cubes and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 2hrs.
2.In a large skillet or frying pan, heat up the vegetable oil and toss in the chicken. This cooking process should take about 8-10 mins or till chicken is cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
3.Return pan with oil to heat and add onions, sauté for about 3-5mins and add remaining vegetables.
4.Add remaining ingredients and adjust seasoning.
5.Add chicken and reduce heat for about 3mins
6.P.S; For a lighter sauce, make a slurry of equal parts water and corn flour add and let cook for about 3mins.
7.Serve hot
